Monday April 7th 2014

This morning we had tutorial, were we focused on developing our evaluation and reflection in our journals.

Reflective practice:

  • Critique
  • Successes and areas for improvement
  • Processes and techniques
  • Discussion
  • Development
  • Evaluation
  • Progression
  • Evidence/photographs
  • Peer review
We were split into pairs and we each had to read and review the other persons reflective journal. I  feel that this was a big help as it is good to see what other people think of your work, but they can also tell you if  what you have written makes sense and if they understand what you have done and what you are planing to do next. I was also nice to read the someone else's reflection to see how they word things and if this is the same or better than the way that you do it, and it also gave me ideas of the types of things I could put next.
I was in a pair with Chris and he told me that my reflection so far was good, but I needed to make it a little more in depth, by further explaining the processes and techniques I have done, and by going into more detail about my strengths and weaknesses, and what I did to improve my work.

This afternoon I did some mono prints to go into my sketchbook. I created them using black ink and drawing from some of the photographs that I had taken. I am pleased with how the turned out and think that they look effective as they were quite quick, small studies.

Quick mono prints.
