Today I decided that I wanted to create another printing plate, so that I could do some more intaglio printing and develop my prints on further. I wanted to incorporate the skull into one of my prints so I decided that I would take a photograph of my sister and Photoshop part of the skull into the image. However this was a little more difficult to do than I had first expected as the skull was a lot longer than my sisters head so I had to crop some of the skull out so that it fit and line up with her eyes, nose and mouth. In the end I feel that it worked out well, and there is an interesting contrast between the to images that works well, and would look good as a print. I edited the final image into black and white so that it would be easier to engrave into the plastic and make the lights and darks easier to see. I will start the engraving tomorrow.
